Fieldnode is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to strengthen the technical foundation of our products.

The role
As Senior Platform Engineer, you will develop and maintain the backend services, cloud infrastructure and deployment processes supporting Fieldnode’s products.
You will work closely with engineering and product teams to improve platform reliability, security, performance and developer experience. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to both technical delivery and long-term platform decisions.
Key responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable backend services and platform capabilities
Build and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code
Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and release processes
Manage containerised applications across development and production environments
Strengthen platform reliability, security, performance and monitoring
Support authentication, authorisation and system integrations
Investigate production issues and implement long-term improvements
Contribute to platform architecture, technical standards and engineering practices
Mentor engineers and share technical knowledge across the team
What we are looking for
5+ years of experience in backend, platform or cloud engineering
Strong backend development experience using Java, TypeScript or any other comparable language
Developed and maintained a globally accessible platform serving users worldwide, with a focus on low latency and high availability
Experience with .NET
Hands-on experience with Azure or another major cloud platform
Strong experience with Docker and Terraform
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and other technologies from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) ecosystem
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Experience using GitOps, Flux and similiar tooling
Good understanding of APIs, distributed systems, relational databases and system integrations
A practical and structured approach, with a strong sense of ownership
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively across engineering and product teams
Fluent English, written and spoken
Based in Oslo and comfortable working in a hybrid model
Norwegian language skills are a strong advantage.
